Otter Nursery in Ottershaw is part of the Kingston Garden Services group which also owns the Sempervirens Nursery in Twickenham. Otter Nursery is most definitely open to the general public but at the same time it now grows and supplies plants to Sempervirens and Kingston Garden Services. Otter Nursery is a newcomer to the plant nurseries in Surrey but it is managed and staffed by highly experienced horticulturalists who been in the business for over 20 years.
For an outlet which is open to the public, this is a large plants nursery and the stock of plants is large, they claim to have 20,000 plants on site and that is entirely believable. A visit to Otter Nursery would equally suit the amateur gardener and also to those seeking to buy plants in bulk. All the usual varieties are stocked and they have many plants you may not well be acquainted with. Shrubs, herbaceous plants, bedding plants, ornamental and fruit trees are all available in wide choice of sizes.
Hedging plants are one of their specialities and they also have a large choice of mature plants for instant impact. The quality of the plants is excellent and it seems to us that you are getting the pick of the crop because they also supply the plants to their other nursery and landscaping business. Prices are very competitive and you will not be disappointed with them.
As well as plants they sell a very wide range of composts and soil conditioners and if you can buy in bulk they are very good value for money. The same applies to their railway sleepers. The loyalty scheme they run is well worth taking up because it entitles you to a very generous 20% off your first purchase of plants and thereafter a 10% discount - better than almost any other loyalty scheme we have seen.
