The plants area is a mixture of solid surface and some areas gravel. The plants are attractively laid out, some areas with two levels of plants. With the relatively small size of the plants area signs are not really necessary and no large ones are present.
The plants are bought in rather than grown on site although they look in good condition and well-watered. They stock a wide range of varieties and plant types. We were even more impressed by the display of water features, attractively arranged and lots to choose from.
Inside the stock barbecues, lots of garden furniture, gardening tools, chemical and sprays and more.
From late July to September the Skylark Giant Maze is open to the public and attracts lots of visitors. There is also a Funyard for young children featuring obstacle courses, slides, go-karts etc. It does cost however, in 2013 the cost ranges from £36 for three.
The food is of good quality and portions sizes are generous. The choice ranges from sandwiches, jacket potatoes, paninis, salads and others through to main meals at around the £8.00 price. In the morning they serve breakfasts, large and small according to your appetite. Teas, coffees and cakes are always available and the afternoon tea at £5.85 is a treat well worth sampling.
